Professor Bruno Mathsson designed seat and back for our chairs so that the user would effortlessly find and maintain a good posture at his work place. Our chairs are developed to suit professionals who spend long hours in a seated position and who require optimal back support and at the same time, freedom of movement. Based on Prof. Mathssons ingenious designs, we offer a wide range of models, each adapted to address specific user requirements.
Saga is a new ergonomic chair, based on the Support Stool. The chair has no protruding parts; all mechanical components are covered for hygiene purposes. Saga which, as many other stools is based upon the idea that the seat and backrest adjust in relation to each other. This however, is where the similarities with a ‘normal’ chair end. The deeply contoured seat of the Saga chair distributes the body weight over a larger surface than a conventional chair, the compact design provides maximum freedom of movement for the upper body and the somewhat shorter seat allows improved circulation in the lower extremities.
The mechanism allows a range of movement thus reducing damaging compression on lumbar discs and thereby pain often caused by working in sedentary positions. The sculptured backrest is in firm contact with the lumbar region keeping the spine positioned in its natural S-shape and puts the user in an upright position.
