Is your in house maintenance all in hand?
In house maintenance or ‘housekeeping’, is as important as preventative maintenance and can also help to reduce unforeseen breakdowns if it is scheduled regularly and carried out correctly, using the recommended products.
Here’s a quick check list to help you along your way…
Dental Chair:
- Clean upholstery with non alcoholic cleaner
- Clean base assembly
Dental Light:
- Clean light reflector
Dental Unit:
- Flush handpiece tubings
- Flush 3 in 1 syringe tubings
- Use dip slide tests every 3 months to check for biofilm build up
- Clean suction filter
- Clean vacuum lines with recommended cleaning solution
- Check oil level
- Ensure suction aspirator adaptors are well lubricated to prevent seizing
- Visually inspect all suction and handpiece tubings for splits/ wear and tear
Suction System:
- Clean with recommended cleaner
- When mixing cleaning solution ensure you follow mixing instructions/measurements strictly to the manufacturer recommendations. Mixing the solution to the incorrect strength can damage the motor
- Clean suction filter
Compressor:
- Ensure receiver is drained down regularly
- Drain any wall filter bowls if any water/moisture is apparent
